Committees
Committee work is essential to our success – through them we teach, learn, and connect. They also provide unique opportunities for you to propel your career by developing skills that you may not currently have, allowing you to connect and collaborate with industry leaders, and providing you with valuable, marketable work experience.
Below are brief descriptions of each of our committees; we hope you’ll find one that interests you. To join, just email the director of the committee you're interested in joining. We are always looking for proactive, engaged members, so you can join committees at any time during the program year.
Education Committee
If you believe continuing education is essential to ongoing career development and have ideas on continuing education programs, this is the committee for you. The Education Committee produces a full year of diverse, quality professional development opportunities for A/E/C professionals, which are beneficial, educational, and appropriate for professionals with various levels of expertise (junior through senior) in order to help attendees be both more effective in their jobs and more marketable in their careers. Programs Committee
Do you like to organize and plan events? Do you have ideas on the types of programs that would benefit A/E/C professionals? Then the Program Committee is for you. This committee produces a full year of diverse, quality, and market sector-oriented informational programs for A/E/C professionals. Our programs are designed to be beneficial and highly relevant to senior staff and firm leaders in order to inform their company’s marketing, BD, and strategic planning initiatives. Membership Engagement Committee
Do you enjoy meeting and engaging with new people? Do you enjoy planning social events? Then the Membership Engagement Committee is for you. This committee maintains our current membership records and acts as our members’ contact on all membership-related issues. Committee members are responsible for both increasing our Chapter’s membership and for engaging with and retaining our current members. And you plan some pretty fun events! Communications Committee
Are you looking for a creative outlet? Are you interested in social media? Do you have a knack for writing or graphic design? Then the Communications Committee is for you. This committee is responsible for our Chapter’s brand identity, communicating all chapter events and initiatives through social media channels, monthly newsletter, email communications, and public/media relations. Sponsorship Committee
Do you want the opportunity to strengthen business relationships with our Chapter's current sponsors? Do you have a knack for talking with businesses about the benefits of being a sponsor of our Chapter? Then this committee is for you. The Sponsorship Committee supports our financial and program goals by sourcing and maintaining event and/or Chapter sponsors. The committee is responsible for helping potential Chapter investors understand our work and the benefits we offer to our members and local AEC community. They also maintain relationships with existing sponsors and make sure they take full advantage of the numerous benefits available to them.
