Nominations for the 2027 SMPS North Texas Board of Directors
Serving on the SMPS North Texas Board is the chapter’s highest level of volunteer leadership—and an opportunity that can shape both your career and the future of the chapter. Board members strengthen their skills, build influential industry relationships and help shape the programs, resources and experiences our members rely on.
Being selected to serve on the board is a meaningful recognition—and a chance to build on the time, talent and perspective you’ve already brought to SMPS. It’s an opportunity to take the next step and play a bigger role in where the chapter goes next.
Nominations will be accepted now through Sunday, October 18, 2026.
Why Serve?
Board service gives members the opportunity to lead beyond the boundaries of their day-to-day roles. It is a place to strengthen your professional voice, gain practical leadership experience and work alongside people who care deeply about advancing the A/E/C industry.
Through board service, members can:

- Build lasting relationships with peers and industry leaders
- Gain experience outside their current position or job description
- Increase their professional visibility and credibility
- Contribute to the direction and long-term success of SMPS North Texas
- Help create meaningful opportunities for other members
Open Board Positions
Nominations are being accepted for the following positions:
- President-Elect: A three-year leadership commitment consisting of one year as President-Elect, one year as President and one year as Immediate Past President.
- Secretary: A two-year term.
- Director of Communications: A two-year Director-at-Large term.
- Director of Membership: A two-year Director-at-Large term.
- Director of Education: A two-year Director-at-Large term.
- Chapter Advisor: A one-year term.
Who Is Eligible?
Eligibility requirements vary by position.
Candidates must have been SMPS members for at least one year by the beginning of their term. Candidates for Secretary or a Director-at-Large position must have served on a chapter committee for at least one year. Candidates for President-Elect must have served on the Board of Directors for at least one year or as a chapter committee chair for at least one year.
Members may nominate themselves or another qualified member. Before submitting a nomination, please review the complete role description and eligibility requirements for the position.
Board Applications
After nominations close, the Nominations and Elections Committee will review the candidates and develop a proposed slate of officers and directors to present to the chapter.

Complete the Board Nomination Form and submit the nomination by Sunday, October 18, 2026.
